cmiVFX launches its latest training video for the digital foliage generation application called SpeedTree. SpeedTree, best known in the gaming industry for its real time geometry modeling tools, has busted into the film and television market as the premiere tool for the creation of digital foliage. While this program is still brand new for the Film and Broadcast industry, its tools have been used time and time again in gaming, allowing for a rich, mature feature set with the stability hard working professionals demand. SpeedTree is most recently noted as an indispensable tool used in the film Avatar.
This video was created to be FREE for the entire population of Visual Effects artists to showcase the power that this tool provides. We at cmiVFX believe in this tool so much, that we are releasing this first volume of SpeedTree for FREE in hopes to later provide advanced tutorials in the near future. All of us at cmiVFX feel that EVERY studio in the world should have at least one license of this application.
