Terragen是一款景观产生器，它提供了山、水、大气、云层、日光等几个元素，让你可以自由创造出非常逼真的自然景观。在每个元素中，你都可以进行细部的修改，以下是这些元素的主要功能：
Landscape：这是构成景观最基本的元件，它从一片平地开始，先以随机的方式产生高山或峡谷，然后你可用画笔雕琢它的外形，调整参数修改高度、坡度，或者在地表上加些草木、青苔，直到你满意为止。
Water：有了山之后，就少不了水，例如你可以在高山上加个水池，或在山谷低洼处灌些水，就可以造出溪谷之类的景观。
Cloudscape：从这里可以随机产生云层，只要进一步修改云层密度、颜色等参数，便可创造出像是晴朗、阴霾等截然不同的效果。
Atmosphere：大气的调整可以让你加些薄雾，创造出景物朦胧的效果。
Lighting：不同的光源方向与强度，可以产生阴影，让景物看起来更具立体感。
除了对元素进行修改外，Terragen也提供了摄影机的功能，可让你从不同的视角观看景物，因此从同一个景物中还可以衍生出不统的景象。
